Carmen Mendoza is a multidimensional artist, versed in various forms of dance including flamenco, Mambo, Jazz, and Hip-hop. The vibrant landscape of New York City has been the perfect conduit for her ongoing relationship with dancing, performing and creating art. Today, Carmen teaches at Latin Fever Dance Studio and works with the non-profit organization, Dancing Classrooms, who's mission is to cultivate essential life skills in children through the practice of social dance. In addition, with a degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Carmen's an independent writer and has worked heavily in the fashion media industry. Carmen is thrilled to be a part of Sekou McMiller Dance Company and their evolutionary contributions to the Latin dance.
Amanda's dance background is versatile and extensive with her core training from The School of the Garden State Ballet, NJ in classical ballet, modern and jazz. Her studies continued into New York Style Mambo, International Latin and Latin Jazz. Amanda has made television appearances on Telemundo, Univision and the BBC Vancouver, and has done many live performances including The Latin Billboard Awards in Miami dancing for singer Don Omar under Director/Choreographer Maria Torres and assistant Jermaine Brown. Amanda resides on staff teaching Jazz and Salsa at Ballet Hispanico and has taught and performed alongside director Sekou McMiller and SMc Dance Co. in Vancouver, China, Atlanta, Boston, Seattle and Chicago. In addition Amanda is certified in Ashtanga yoga and holds a BA degree in Sociology and Family Studies from San Jose State University.
Daría Sánchez has studied with several of the Latin dance world's most acclaimed artists; Sekou McMiller, Noibis Licea, Maria Torres, Luis Salgado, Jhesus Aponte, Michael Fielder and Ava Apple. Specializing in Afro-Latin Jazz, she has performed at Lincoln Center's Mid-Summer Night's Swing and Out-of-Doors festivals, numerous dance congresses, including the New York International Salsa Congress / Dance and Music Festival, Hostos Center for the Arts and Culture (CUNY), and many other notable venues and events. She was recently part of the cast of "A Ramp To Paradise 2", produced by Thelma Hill Performing Arts Center (THPAC) and the Kumble Theater, a groundbreaking dance-theater chronicle of the Paradise Garage, the legendary New York City underground dance club. Daria is currently the rehearsal director for SMc Dance Co.
Skizzo is a native of Spain and has over 20 years of experience working as a dancer, actor and singer. He has worked for major companies like Mercedes, Renault, Pfizer, Coca-cola, The final four, Spanish singers and international artist such as Innocence, Roser, Miguel Ángel Muñoz, Miguel Bose, Mónica Naranjo, Paulina Rubio, Samantha Mumba and Don Omar. In addition Skizzo has been featured in Spanish movies and musicals including The beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, Weding Singer, Saturday Night Fever (Joey) Chicago and Sweet Charity (of broadway). While in New York City his studies have been with many prominent choreographers such as Gil Duldulao, Brian Friedman, BT, Jermaine Brown, Jared Grimes, Rhapsody, Maria Torres, Sekou McMiller... Skizzo boast an extensive Choreographic career in both Spain and the U.S.
